The purpose is to train your brain to effortlessly work in 25 minute flow states on demand.

Choose a task
Set a 25 minute timer (turn on DO NOT DISTURB)
Work on your task until the time is up with zero distractions
Take a 5 minute break
Every 4 pomodoro’s take a 15-30 minute break
The 5 minute break is to walk, stretch, do laundry or anything other than the task in order to recharge and not burn out.
It’s important to note how many times your attention drifted away from your task and why.
If your goal in 25 minutes is to finish editing a paper and you find yourself looking at social media after 5 minutes into your Pomodoro Timer then you have work to do.
Consistency over time will lead to zero distractions and pure focus. You set your intention then flow with your attention.
